Adjustable Table E 1027 is the table designed by Eileen Gray of the year 1927, and distributed by ClassiCon . Intuitive and straightforward, this brilliant table is joined in the history of international design with its spontaneity. Today in new Black version.
Eileen Gray is an international name of the design. Collaborator in the '20s and '30s of important architects such as Le Corbusier and JJP Oud , design articles and bar stools in several variations. This coffee table is the most famous piece of furniture design by Eileen Gray, who since 1973 has granted the worldwide rights to manufacture and distribute her designs to Aram Designs Limited London . The Museum of Modern Art has added to its permanent design collection in 1978. Adjstable Table has chrome-plated steel tube frame available in black lacquered metal , the top is available in clear or tinted . The table is adjustable and perfect proportions , these features , along with its line seplice , have made it in time a true design icon. It is named after the summer house E 1027 , " Maison en bord de mer" , that Eileen Gray built for herself and for her collaborator , Jean Badovici . The secret code name also derives from her: E is for Eileen , 10 for Jean ( J is the tenth letter of the alphabet) , 2 for B ( adovici ) and 7 for G (ray) .

Conçu par Eileen Gray
Eileen Gray was born in Enniscorthy, Ireland, in 1878, and died in Paris, France, in 1976. She is a pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture. She is one of the most important architect and interior design of contemporary age. She left painting studies and after further training in lacquer work, in 1919 decorated an apartment for Suzanne Talbot. Gray designed most of its furniture and succeed. She knew Le Corbusier who was impressed by her talent. Persuaded by Jean Badovici and Le Corbusier, she turned her interests into architecture. In 1924, Eileen and Badovici began working on the house E-1027, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin in southern France. Nowadays her pieces of furniture are highly valued and sold as collector's items. The National Museum of Ireland in Dublin, has a permanent display of her work.
