Anna Castelli Ferrieri

Anna Ferrieri was born in Milan the 6th August 1920 from a family operating in the cultural field. His father Enzo was an intellectual, editor and founder of the Convegno review which gave life to a club where used to spend time authors such as Luigi Pirandello, Umberto Saba and Eugenio Montale. Stimulated from Bauhaus vanguards, in 1938 she began studying architecture at the Politecnico of Milano where she would have approached with the rationalistic style to found her own studio in 1946. Chiostro del Bramante (Milan) and Palazzo Benci (Florence) belong to Ferrieri’s refurbished historical buildings. Since 1966 she began to collaborate with Kartell, foundend from her husband in 1949. Then realizes the superimposable chair 4870, winning the Compasso d’oro such in 1994 for Hannah’s Sambonet.
